Shareholders of
electric car maker Tesla will be voting tonight on at least two significant proposals backed by Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk.
The annual general meeting (AGM) of Tesla shareholders will begin at 4:30 pm New York time i.e. 2 am Indian Standard Time.
Tesla AGM will be livestreamed here on CNBC-TV18: Musk wants to move
the headquarters of the $565 billion company to Texas from Delaware, where nearly two-thirds of all listed companies in the US are registered due to the state's business-friendly policies.
The proposal comes six months after a judge in Delaware rejected a $55.8 billion compensation for CEO Musk, approved by the company's board of directors in 2018.
That's the second significant proposal in front of
the shareholders: to approve or reject the proposed compensation that would make Musk the highest-paid CEO in the US.
On June 12, Musk said, in a social media post, that
both proposals will win at the AGM by 'wide margins'.
The 52-year-old Elon Musk is estimated to have a net worth of nearly $209 billion, according to real-time data from Forbes on June 12. He owns six companies including Tesla, X (the social media platform earlier called Twitter), rocket maker SpaceX, and tunneling startup Boring Company.
